On July 18, an attack on the National Security Bureau in Damascus decimated the regime's security apparatus. Four high-ranking officials were killed.
On October 21, a car bomb targeted for the first time this Christian neighbourhood of Old Damascus, killing 13 people.
On August 6, an attack struck Syrian state TV and radio headquarters in central Damascus.
