Diego Maradona, a life worthy of a movie

Latest update : 2008-05-23

Diego Armando Maradona accepted Emir Kusturica's invitation to star in a film that is as much a tribute to sports as a celebration of the Argentinian football legend.

Emir Kusturica  is certainly one of Maradona's biggest fans. He makes no secret of his infatuation in the documentary dedicated to his hero's life "Maradona by Kusturica."

A football legend and a revolutionary at heart, Maradona touched entire generations. He is as famous for his exploits - his 'hand of God' goal against England- as he is for his troubles and addictions.

Emir Kusturica followed him for almost three years. The resulting film tells the story of Maradona's life, glory, fall and rebirth.
