France's Pietrus leaves Warriors for Magic

Mickael Pietrus is leaving Golden State after five seasons with the Warriors. The French guard joins the Orlando Magic, with whom he signed a 5,2-million-dollar contract for the coming season.

French guard Mickael Pietrus signed a multi-year National Basketball Association contract with the Orlando Magic, club general manager Otis Smith told the Florida Today newspaper Tuesday.

The newspaper reported that Pietrus, who had played with Golden State, will receive almost 5.2 million dollars for the 2008-2009 season from the Magic.


Pietrus, who has spent five seasons with Golden State, averaged 7.7 points and 3.7 rebounds last season and is averaging 8.6 points over his NBA career.
