President's son marries retail heiress

French President Nicolas Sarkozy's son Jean married Jessica Sebaoun, a member of the family behind the Darty chain of appliance stores. The couple tied the knot in Neuilly-sur-Seine, where father and son were both first elected to public office.

Jean Sarkozy, the son of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, exchanged wedding vows Wednesday with an heir to a French retailing fortune in his father's political fiefdom, west of Paris.

Sarkozy, who turned 22 on September 1, and Jessica Sebaoun, in her early 20s, tied the knot at the city hall in Neuilly-sur-Seine, where the elder Sarkozy launched his political career.

Guests included Immigration Minister Brice Hortefeux and French rap star Doc Gyneco, as well as family members including President Sarkozy and his wife of seven months, model-turned-singer Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.

Sebauoun is a member of the Darty family that in 1957 founded what became an eponymous nationwide chain of big-box home appliance stores, now owned by Britain's KESA Electricals group.

Jean Sarkozy, a Sorbonne law student who sports blond shoulder-length hair, is already an elected politician in the Hauts-de-Seine regional council west of Paris where he leads the right-wing majority.

The president's son is the cover interview in a glossy French style magazine this month.

Sarkozy has two sons from his first marriage, Jean and his elder brother Pierre, 23, and a third, 11-year-old Louis, from his second marriage to Cecilia Ciganer-Albeniz whom he divorced last year.
