France's Gilles Simon beats American James Blake
Frenchman Gilles Simon got rid of American 11th seed James Blake in the second round of the Madrid Masters 3-6 6-1 6-4. Simon, 23, could be up against Russian fifth seed Nikolay Davydenko in the next round.

Frenchman Gilles Simon bundled American 11th seed James
Blake out of the Madrid Masters second round 3-6 6-16-4 on
Tuesday.

The 23-year-old, who lost to Blake at the Beijing Olympics
in August, could face Russian fifth seed Nikolay Davydenko in
the next round.

Earlier, Finland's Jarkko Nieminen survived a fightback from
Russia's Mikhail Youzhny in their first round match to win 7-5
3-6 6-2. He next faces 10th seed Stanislas Wawrinka.
Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber, France's Gael Monfils and
qualifier Marcel Granollers all made it to the second round with
straight set victories.

Later on Tuesday, fourth seed Andy Murray plays Italian
Simone Bolelli in the second round, and top seed Rafael Nadal
faces Latvian Ernests Gulbis.
