Injured Beckham suffers Milan setback

Latest update : 2009-03-10

AC Milan has confirmed its English midfielder, David Beckham, may not play in Siena this weekend. Beckham, who will remain on loan to the club until June, twisted his ankle during training.

AFP - Former England captain David Beckham twisted his ankle in training with AC Milan on Tuesday, the club said on its official website.

The news comes just days after the 33-year-old midfielder signed an extension to his loan deal at the Italian giants from Los Angeles Galaxy, keeping him at the club until the end of June.

Milan did not reveal for how long Beckham would be sidelined but said that they would try to evaluate the seriousness of his injury over the coming days.
