Clinton warns Iran deeds must follow words

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in London, has warned that Iran does not have unlimited time to meet the requests of world powers regarding its nuclear programme. Clinton also spoke of a growing security threat in Pakistan.

REUTERS - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Sunday the international community would not wait indefinitely for Iran to show that it is prepared to meet its international obligations.

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband, whom Clinton met in London, said Iran would never have a better opportunity to establish normal ties with the rest of the world.

Six world powers met with Iran in Geneva earlier this month to press for details on its nuclear programme. Clinton said the meeting was constructive but added: “Words are not enough.”

Negotiations are due on Oct. 19 in Vienna on a proposal to send Iranian uranium abroad for processing and return to Tehran.

On Oct. 25, U.N. inspectors are due to visit an enrichment plant near the holy city of Qom.
