Amid the recent terrorist scare, the United States is developing a better no-fly list, which currently includes members of Congress, and even babies. Also, the Herald Sun reports, smacking your child might make it become more successful.
New US security guidelines require a closer look at people from 14 countries, including Pakistan, Nigeria and Yemen. Other countries have jumped on the band wagon, accepting these guidelines as well.
But, officials from some of these countries said the list was offensive…
At the same time…”The Washington Post” reports, that the US is developing a better no-fly list. What is a no-fly list? It’s a list of names of people that are not allowed to fly. To generate the list, authorities use racial and religious profiling…
The problem is that if a person on that list has the same name as you, you are not allowed to take the plane either. That’s the case for members of Congress and even babies.
The article says authorities want a way for travelers to check if they’re on that list to avoid unpleasant surprises at the airport.
The author doesn’t mean a website but that people should be able to go to embassies or airport security offices, saying actually dangerous people would probably avoid those places
The election battle in the British parliament has begun.
"The Independent" reports that the two main parties spent Monday insulting each other.
Taxes and public spending are causing much debate, and the paper says neither Labour nor the Tories are being upfront with the public.
Actually, neither really have a plan to reduce the deficit. So they are trying to avoid the topic.
The author says, it’s a bit sad that neither party is really taking a stand because election time is when you should be able to talk about important issues.
They have four month to come up with a better answer, then it’s election time.
