Thierry Henry to join NY Red Bulls, reports Boston Globe

After weeks of speculation in the footballing world, US daily the Boston Globe reported on Sunday that French international Thierry Henry will be joining the New York Red Bulls after the World Cup.

French striker Thierry Henry will join Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise New York Red Bulls after the World Cup, according to a report published in the US daily the Boston Globe on Sunday.
“A league source confirmed last night that Thierry Henry will join the New York Red Bulls, likely after the World Cup. Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz signed Henry to a contract that will include playing and promotional duties,” the newspaper reported.
Henry, 32, only played 23 games with FC Barcelona this season, scoring just four goals against minor teams. Reports that the US franchise and the player have been in talks have been circulating in the Spanish and English press for several weeks.
