National Front hot on heels of Sarkozy's UMP party in local election results

With just one year to go before the French presidential election, things aren't looking good for Nicolas Sarkozy's UMP Party. The first round of local elections on Sunday saw them firmly beaten into second place by the Socialists. But the real concern is the rise of the National Front. The far-right party took 15.2% of the vote, and will see 402 of its candidates nationally go through to the second round this weekend.
