With the far-right on the rise, some members of the ruling UMP are calling to vote for the Socialist Party if necessary in the upcoming second round of local elections, in order to create a “Republican Front” against the Front National. Meanwhile, according to a poll in France Soir, 66% of the population approves of President Sarkozy’s handling of the Libya crisis.
