It’s the exhibition of the future and its currently on display here in Paris. The third Edition of the 1.618 fair is underway at La Cite de la Mode et du Design located on the Left Bank at the Paris Docks. It’s a gathering of the minds in the new world of luxury, where creation, innovation and above all sustainable development reigns supreme.
Here’s a look at the nomadic side of luxury as presented by Edenismes. Created in 2003 by an ex-marketing head of Chanel, the company struggled to make financiers understand its strategy.
Also on display, the latest in textile development form the firm Norlha. Their goal: to allow nomadic farmers from the Tibetan Plateau to cultivate and sell Yak wool. The delicate fabric is considered even more luxurious than cashmere. The wool wraps can be found at the top fashion houses like Balmain, Sonia Rykel, Hermes or Lanvin Homme.
Change the point of view to get around the dogma...That’s what Jacques Rougerie thinks. The marine architect presents the Sea Orbiter, an extraordinary laboratory developed with the understanding that its the ocean which holds the keys to our future.
The faire’s name 1.618 it’s geometry’s Golden Ratio. A nod from Antiquity for a look into our future.
