You get the Press Review - in spite of the strike
Issued on: Modified:
The papers are reflecting on Algeria's 50 years of independence, but you might not be aware of it because the printers are on strike. Le Figaro lets them have it on their front page - or screen - blaming printers for anachronism and arrogance!
Le Monde takes a look at Algeria's celebration of 50 years free from French rule. They've invited representatives from nine countries to the festivities, including Russia, China, the US...but not France. Why? France has yet to answer calls for an apology for the colonial period, but that's not all.Â
Les Echos reminds us of the need to dwell on our economic woes, and the Parisien reports on the real bill of rigor, and has an interview with the former president of the Senate Finate Commission.Â
Also in the Parisien former France Telekom Didier Lombard is being investigated for the wave of suicides that took place among employees in 2008-09.Â
