The European Union has been presented with the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize at a ceremony in Oslo. It was awarded in recognition of how the 27-member bloc has helped transform a divided post-war Europe into a peaceful and united continent. Yet some feel the EU is not a worthy recipient, complaining that it manufactures and exports weapons, while others blame it for the economic woes of their country.
