Reality knocks: Mali's civilian casualties

Today saw the first reports of civilian casualties in Mali. After two weeks of filtered news reports with journalists kept back from the frontline, reports of 12 civilian deaths in the town of Konna are emerging. Also, Sunday's liberation of Gao provides an example of the limits of embedded journalism. We also look at coverage of Sunday's march in Paris in favour of gay marriage, plus UK plans for a poster campaign aimed at dissuading Bulgarian and Romanian immigrants.
