Vaccines Industry: the competition over saving lives

Today we look at a $34 billion industry that's saving millions of lives. But is the money spent on vaccines going as far as it should? The market is now dominated by the public-private partnership, the Global Alliance for Vaccination and Immunisation, Gavi. Working with governments and pharmaceutical companies, it has negotiated lower prices for many important vaccines. But critics say Gavi is too close to the supplier and its purchasing decisions are influenced by some donor countries.
