Leaders seek to build ties between Turkish and Iraqi Kurds

In Turkey, the Kurdish-majority city of Diyarbakir has just received a very symbolic visit. Massoud Barzani, the president of Iraqi Kurdistan, was invited by Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan to help facilitate a reconciliation between Turkey's Kurdish community and Ankara. The message was not, however, welcomed by supporters of the PKK, the Kurdistan Workers' Party. They accuse the government of grandstanding, four months before municipal elections.
