Marine Le Pen has worked hard to distance herself and the National Front party from her father and its honorary president Jean-Marie Le Pen, first and foremost from the racist and anti-Semitic outbursts he has become famous for. But the old demons resurfaced last week with the elderly Le Pen issuing a highly controversial remark on the Jewish singer Patrick Bruel, prompting a very unusual public tiff between him and his daughter.
