More and more European nationals have been joining jihad in Syria, and it is feared that they may plot and stage attacks on European soil upon return. To monitor this terrorist threat, EU counter-terrorism coordinator Gilles de Kerchove has been working with some of the European member states to increase intelligence-sharing and take new anti-terrorist measures.
