It appears that Hollywood actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have finally tied the knot, after marrying on Saturday at their wine estate in the south of France, a spokesman for the couple has announced.
Jolie and Pitt were wed in a private ceremony attended by family and friends, according to the Associated Press, which cited an unnamed spokesman. The couple obtained a marriage license ahead of the wedding from a California judge, who also conducted the ceremony at Château Miraval in the village of Correns, Provence.
Jolie, 39, and Pitt, 50, began seeing each other after working together on the set of the 2005 film “Mr. And Mrs. Smith”. The pair have six children together, all of whom took part in the wedding ceremony. The two oldest boys, Maddox and Pax, walked their mother down the aisle, while daughters Zahara and Vivienne threw flower petals and brothers Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers.
It is Pitt’s second marriage and Jolie’s third. Pitt was previously married to American actress Jennifer Aniston from 2000-2005. Jolie was married for three years to British actor Johnny Lee Miller in the 1990s. She was also married to American actor Billy Bob Thorton for three years, before divorcing in 2003.
The couple both have upcoming films. Jolie will be directing her second movie, “Unbroken,” a World War II epic set to be released in December. Pitt, meanwhile, is starring in another World War II drama, “Fury,” which is due to open on October 17.
