From Sarajevo to Guantanamo, the journey of the Algerian Six

The day after the 9/11 attacks, six Algerian nationals were arrested in Bosnia-Herzegovina. They were accused of being terrorists and plotting fresh attacks against the United States, but were ultimately acquitted by the Bosnian courts. On the day of their release, US agents took them by force to a then-unknown destination: Guantanamo Bay.

Some of them spent over twelve years there, in Guantanamo Bay. Throughout their detention, the men maintained their innocence. Today they are free, but closely monitored, as question marks remain over their past. Who are the Algerians of Guantanamo really? Our reporters went to meet them.
