François Hollande: The mid-term blues

French President François Hollande is reaching mid-mandate with very little to celebrate. He is, by far, the most unpopular president in modern times and the vast majority of his fellow countrymen do no want to see him run again in 2017. Even within his own Socialist party, he is facing a growing chorus of opponents. This week, one of his arch-rivals, former party boss Martine Aubry, broke two years of silence and took direct aim at the president.
