US midterms: Obama loses the Senate

The Republican party has swept the midterm elections, as expected, leaving a lame duck presidency for Barack Obama's final two years in office.

Also, the right-to-die movement in the US now has a very real face. 29-year-old Brittany Maynard, suffering from terminal brain cancer, has taken her own life on her own terms.

Finally, a fugitive Mexican mayor and his wife are arrested in connection with the case of 43 missing students.
