Airbnb co-founder Brian Chesky takes the French capital by storm while officials spell out the objections of tax collectors, affordable housing advocates and hoteliers outraged at what they deem "unfair competition" from a mostly unregulated new service. It's a sentiment echoed in other parts of the "sharing economy", namely by licensed cab drivers over the taxi service Uber. So are these new services improving the way we do business, or simply fuelling a new "black economy"?
