Tensions rise in Chad ahead of presidential poll

In this edition: tensions rise in Chad ahead of the presidential poll; in South Sudan, opposition troops prepare for a joint integrated unit and a new Malian TV series "Taxi Tigui" hits the small screen.

Chadian police violently dispersed protesters outside the courthouse in N'Djamena, after prosecutors called for jail time for opposing the government. This comes just days before the presidential election.

In South Sudan, thousands of rebels loyal to Riek Machar are arriving in the capital Juba before they regain the ranks of the army.
And off to a roaring start: "Taxi Tigui" is Mali's newest TV series about a taxi and its passengers. The Bambara-language show tells of the trials and tribulations of residents in Bamako.
