More than 21,000 migrants arrived on Greek shores last week, risking their lives as they cross the Mediterranean on inflatable dinghies and tiny boats. FRANCE 24 speaks to some who made it to the Greek holiday island of Kos.

The majority of them are refugees fleeing the horrors of civil war in Syria, a country many of them say they had no choice but to leave.
