Middle East: Are we heading for a third intifada?
Issued on:
Tensions have been rising in the West Bank and Jerusalem in the past few weeks, with casualties on both sides. Israel has promised a firm response and although Palestinian authorities have said they want to avoid a confrontation, there are fears that a third intifada could be brewing.
Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip, depression has set in for many Palestinians who continue to live amongst the rubble of the last conflict and with the desperation of the blockade that is now nearly a decade old.
And while the EU considers how to deal with refugees seeking to reach its shores, Syria's neighbours are already hosting millions of them. We focus on Lebanon, where a "back to school" campaign is hoping to get 200,000 Syrian children back into classrooms this year.
