Both sides in South Sudan conflict accused of atrocities in AU report
Though both sides are accused of atrocities, an AU report contradicts South Sudan's claims that its civil war was sparked by an attempted coup. It concludes soldiers backing President Salva Kiir first slaughtered and tortured ethnic Nuers, sometimes forcing them to eat human flesh. Also, elections in Zanzibar are annulled and on mainland Tanzania the opposition is raising concerns. And in DR Congo, one NGO tries to get ahead of a measles outbreak in which hundreds of children have already died.
