Syrian army and militias advance against the rebels

The Syrian army and its supporting militias made important advances against the rebels in key towns north and south of Syria. The towns of Rabiaa and Salma in the Latakia region were taken back a few days ago, fighting is still ongoing in the town of Sheikh Maskin in the Deraa region. All those advances, including the ones south of Aleppo, were possible because of the considerable Russian effort to provide air support and arms to the Syrian army forces and by helping them on the ground in the offensive undertaken in Latakia.
