Some two dozen people were taken into custody in Tuesday's strike...which began at dawn and wreaked havoc on Paris' ring road, it's airports and within the city, in areas where over 2000 drivers gathered in protest. the government condemned occaissional outbursts of violence by protesters on Tuesday ...SOT Valls: Nothing warrants such violence. that is why i would like to praise police forces that took a number of people into custody. yet the government also offered to help. They vowed to step up efforts to get chauffeurs who are skirting the law off the roads. They also named a mediator, who has three months to come up with a plan to help drivers...Proposals that havent appeased everyone. Some are as determined as ever to keep up the strike. condemned teh
