Debunking clichés: Is striking typically French?

FRENCH CONNECTIONS – Thurs. 28.01.16: This week was marked by strikes across the country: taxi drivers, farmers and teachers all walked off the job. It begs the question: is striking typically French? It certainly is a cliché abroad and French people arguably have striking down to a fine art, but if you take a closer look, the figures debunk the myth. So why has the stereotype stuck around?
