Mining firm to pay $5 billion over Brazil mudslide

The mining company Samarco, which is jointly owned by BHP Billiton and Vale, has agreed to pay at least $5 billion over a breached dam which caused what has been described as Brazil's worst environmental disaster. Nineteen people died in the resulting mudslide. Also today, some good news on the latest French unemployment figures.
