Egyptians furious over deadly police brutality

Public anger over police brutality is palpable in Egypt. El Nadim Center for the Management and Rehabilitation of Victims of Violence says 474 people died at the hands of the police in 2015. When an Italian student was found dead with signs of torture a few weeks ago, the issue received worldwide attention. And after a taxi driver was shot dead by a police officer, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi proposed legal changes to toughen the punishments for police abuse. FRANCE 24 reports.

A programme prepared by Patrick Lovett, Josh Vardey, Elise Duffau and Claire Pryde.
