Viviane Reding: 'Poland is moving to a very autocratic system'

Viviane Reding, a center-right MEP from Luxembourg who previously served as EU’s justice commissioner, is worried about the political developments in Poland, saying the days when the eastern European country would help the 28-member bloc move forward seem to be long gone.

According to Reding, “Poland is moving to a very autocratic system”, saying the country seems to have abandoned its former role as a constructive and pacifying influence on the EU and its members after its change of government.

"We need Poland back!," she says.
