In a rush to avoid a ban from the Rio Olympics, Kenya has signed a tough new anti-doping bill into law. WADA, the World Anti-Doping Agency, had given Nairobi until next month to introduce a legal framework to prevent professional athletes from using banned substances. Legislators have gone one step further by criminalising drugs cheats.

Meanwhile, FRANCE 24 catches up with Somalian President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to discuss the fight against Islamist group al Shabaab. This as Somalia's leaders wrap up a forum on plans to hold elections before the end of the year.

And Abidjan has been feeling the rhythms of FEMUA this week. The music festival is one of the region's biggest and is being held in the Ivorian city for the ninth time this year. Our correspondents were in the crowds.
