Desperate times called for desperate measures this week in Venezuela as President Maduro imposed a 2-day work week for public servants in a bid to reduce energy consumption, meanwhile Saudi Arabia announced its goal of weaning off its oil dependency by 2030. Former London mayor Ken Livingstone drew harsh criticism for claiming Hitler was a Zionist, Spain’s political stalemate continued between old and new parties, and France’s left-wing Nuit Debout movement showed little sign of slowing down.
