End of an era: Uncertainty in Brazil after Rousseff impeachment (part 2)

After an almighty all-nighter, Brazil's president has been impeached. The Senate voted to suspend Dilma Rousseff and start proceedings to permanently chase from power a woman whose fall in the twilight of the Lula years is as spectacular as her rise from trade union militant. How serious are the charges against her? Will Brazil be any better off under a vice-president whose own party is also deeply implicated in the Petrobras scandal? After so many years of left-led rule, what comes next?
