Duterte Harry: The Philippines and its unconventional president-elect (part 1)

A populist insurgent with a macho man image, untested on the national stage. True to his "Duterte Harry" nickname, the Philippines’ President-Elect Rodrigo Duterte wants Congress to restore the death penalty to crack down on crime. However, he also wants Communists in his government to help with land reform, is reaching out to Maoist rebels and calls for a constitutional convention to decentralise more power to the provinces. Which way is democracy headed in a nation of a 100 million people?
