The European Union: United in right-wing nationalism?

He lost by a mere 0.3 percent. Norbert Hofer, the anti-EU and anti-immigration nationalist presidential candidate, did not become Austria's new president - but he came incredibly close. Support for his Freedom Party is clearly high and Austria is not alone in seeing a rise in nationalist tendencies: in Finland, Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany, France, and basically across the whole European Union, right-wing political groups calling for national interests to be put first are gaining ground
