A certified 'palace': How hotels strive for excellence

In this edition we look at France's hotel industry, specifically at the top end of the market here in Paris. During the past decade, the arrival of a number of new hotels has forced many of the city's famous landmark hotels to smarten up their act and undergo some major makeovers. There's also an even more prestigious category known as "palace" hotels. There are just over a dozen of them nationwide and it's a label that can only be awarded by the French tourism board.
