Erdogan 'untouchable' since attempted coup

Hundreds of thousands of pro-government supporters took to the streets of Istanbul this weekend for a mass show of national unity against the coup plotters. But with thousands of people detained and arrested in a widespread crackdown on dissent since the July 15 failed coup, the French press isn't convinced by the rally's claim to “champion democracy”.
