When the Joe Biden landed in Ankara, it was the deputy mayor who went to greet him, a glaring protocol snub to express Turkey's displeasure over American refusal to extradite preacher Fetullah Gulen, the preacher accused of instigating last month's coup attempt. And yet Turkey also reported that the U.S. was backing an anti-Isis incursion by Special Forces into neighboring Syria. When push comes to shove, will Turkey always side with its NATO ally or could relations deteriorate further?
