EU commissioner for migration: ‘All EU states should help solve migrant crisis’

Dimitris Avramopoulos, the EU’s commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, speaks out about the migration crisis in Europe. According to him, the EU-Turkey agreement could help prevent smugglers from profiting from the crisis. But, he says, there is still lot to do, including helping southern EU nations to cope with the influx of refugees. He says the crisis is a major challenge for the EU whose core values: solidarity and respect for human rights, risk being compromised.
