Doctors in Cameroon continue strike action over unpaid wages
Date created :
In this week's edition: Doctors in Cameroon continue their strike over unpaid wages; Tanzanian fishermen may be damaging the environment by using mosquito nets; and South African artist Athi-Patra Ruga's tapestries are on display in Paris.
Cameroonian doctors, furious at what they say are impossibly low wages and appalling working conditions, push ahead with strike action. We hear from some of them.
Also, insecticide-treated mosquito nets have helped save millions of lives across Africa in recent years but with many communities doubling them up as fishing nets, lakes are becoming polluted and vital fish stocks are dwindling.
And we meet the rising star of the South African contemporary art scene. Athi-Patra Ruga's vibrant tapestries and social observations have won him admirers across the world.
