"The daring bet of pluralism". That's French newspaper Le Monde's way of headlining that France's government now boasts its broadest political spectrum since De Gaulle's first government in 1959. It's possibly fair to say that Emmanuel Macron has completely upended the political landscape, picking off heavyweights from the big centre-left and centre-right blocs in a nation where for too long, reform's been a taboo.
