The world's most famous film festival is celebrating its 70th edition: a frenzied fortnight of screenings, parties and deal-making that's about much more than stars coming out for world premieres. It's all part of a business where the red carpet serves as a launchpad for what producers hope will be the next blockbuster or summer sleeper.
