Kenya court rules Dubai firm can print presidential ballots
Date created :
In tonight's bulletin: a Kenyan court says a Dubai firm can print presidential ballots; security is ramped up in Abidjan ahead of the Francophone Games; and we meet South African star Yvonne Chaka Chaka.
As Kenya counts down to a general election, the country's appeals court overturns a ruling that had prevented ballot papers from being printed. It's a victory for the incumbent but a blow to the opposition, which made allegations of electoral fraud.
Also, violent clashes erupt in Abidjan, just hours before thousands of people flock to the Ivory Coast city for the Francophone Games, where authorities have beefed up security.
And we get to know the "Princess of Africa" with a heart of gold. South African pop music legend and activist Yvonne Chaka Chaka was recently recognised for her humanitarian work in the fight against malaria.
