Lucy Orta: Creating a room of one's own in the 'Women House'
British artist Lucy Orta sculpts solutions, fashions superhuman figures, and puts innovative installations in unlikely landscapes. She joins us in the studio to talk about "refuge wear": her artistic response to the social and environmental crises affecting the planet. Orta’s installation "Habitent" is part of the Women House exhibition at the Monnaie de Paris; the group show explores the links between female creativity and the domestic space.
We take a closer look at some of the women pioneers in that field: Louise Bourgeois, Niki de Saint Phalle and Cindy Sherman.
