November 2nd is the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists. The UN-recognised day shines the spotlight on the extremely low global conviction rate for violent crimes against journalists and media workers. Over the last 11 years, more than 900 journalists have been killed for bringing news to the public, with just one in ten cases leading to a conviction.
