A journalist murdered: Europe's media freedom under threat
She was a tenacious investigative journalist, uncovering corruption at the highest levels. In mid-October, Maltese reporter Daphne Caruana Galizia was murdered, prompting an outcry and calls for Europe to press for a full, transparent investigation. Three MEPs join our debate – asking whether a transparent investigation is in fact possible, what influence the European institutions can have, and to what extent media freedom itself is under threat in Europe.
